How to Calculate the Volume of a Cylinder

Formula:

Volume = π x r² x h

Where:
π = Pi = 3.14159
r = Radius = 1/2 Diameter
h = Height

Example
You have a cylinder with a 5 inch diameter and it’s 6 inches high. What is the volume of this cylinder?

(5 Inch Diameter Divided by 2) = 2.5 Inch Radius
2.5 Inch Radius × 2.5 Inch Radius = 6.25
6.25 × 6 Inches Height = 37.5
37.5 × 3.14159 = 117.809625 Cubic Inches

The volume of a cylinder 5 inches in diameter and 6 inches high is 117.81 cubic inches.
